Airlink router cannot connect to certain sites
I just upgraded to an Airlink AR670W 802.11-N router. I have a Windows Vista machine connected to the wired LAN port of the router. When i try to access certain sites
www.microsoft.com www.intuit.com www.turbotax.com It just hangs. Some times it says "Waiting to open..." on the browser status. Sometimes it may say "Reading xxx...". This happens with both Firefox and IE Explorer (and bothe hang on the same sites). Some sites like yahoo, google. my banks etc. are completely accessible. If I connect my machine directly to DSL or VPN to my work through the router I can access all the sites. ![]() One thing I noticed when I checked the Security settings on my machine (control Panel -> Security .> Firewalls) it shows multiple firewalls running - Norton and Pc-cillin which I have never installed. I cannot see the PC-cillin process. What can this be? Thanks. M |

Re: Airlink router cannot connect to certain sites
Try disabling ALL the firewalls. Truthfully, I'd uninstall ALL of them and see if you can regain control first.

Re: Airlink router cannot connect to certain sites
Thanks!
How do I disable the PC-cillin? I cannot see any process or application belonging to Trend Micro. It is not in my Startup list either? How the do I stop it? Is there any way to bring up Vista in Safe mode?M |

Re: Airlink router cannot connect to certain sites
You boot Vista in Safe Mode the same way as XP, by hitting the F8 key before Windows starts loading.
Safe Mode Boot for all versions of Windows
