Missing bandwidth!Some help please...

hey guys, i have a 2mbps adsl connection and am connected via bridged mode. For the the month or so that i got it connected i was recieving speedss around 1.8 mbps, but for the past month i've been recieveng speed ussually around 1 mbps, now that is a massiv eloss in bandwidth considering that the total itself asn't that much, the isp has already stated that there isn't any probs on their side, therefore, i reloaded my OS(windows XP) and started again, i wanted to know if there was anything i could do to recover that bandwidth(unless it's a physical wire break somewhere). I'll post a hijack this report as well if you like, and maybe you could find out if there was a service sapping my bandwidth(leave out the torrent client and chrome). and please also mention any other tweak(exceot Qos) that i could use

Unplug your modem/router for about 15secs and plug it back in this will make it re sync with your isp.

i've done that tons of times, doesnt help....my downloads use to go around 210-220 KBps, now they wont go one over 180 at best...

I have 1.5mbp/s and my downloads cap at 160k could be the speed of the server your downloading from as well holding you back.

Well, for a 2mbit connection, that's not that awful, remember that 180 is bytes, not bits.


Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.
