WIFI Problems Help!

I have 2 pc's in other rooms of the house, the main one HP Pavilion a6000n is directly hooked up to a hub/router ActionTec GT704-WG that is being rented from VERIZON, the other HP Pavilion a6750f is hooked up to a Linksys Wireless-N USB Network adapter and is less then 30ft away, now the problem:

The PC using the Linksys network adapter is SO SLOW online, I mean, beyond pathetic- What's strange is that the connection I am getting is ALL 5 bars, PERFECT! ***? Is it that my router/hub sucks, do I need to invest in a linksys??? Help! SO Frusterated :(

Re: WIFI Problems Help!

When you mean slow, how slow it is. Bcuz slow is very subjective. How long does it take to load yahoo or google website.

Just for your info mixing 2 type of wireless will cause the entire wireless to run at the slowest of the 2 speed. In your case, the entire wireless will run at G speed and you will not reap the benefits of N wireless.

The same concept works if you have an 'A' or 'B' wireless client logged onto the router. Is any of your comp's experiencing this slowness you are talking about
