WIFI Adapter Not Connecting
I have a Realtek RTL8187 Wireless LAN Utility (Alpha Network Highpower adapter 802.11G). Signal strength shows "Very Good", but status shows "Limited or no connectivity". Wireless Network connection status shows: "The problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer."
I'm running XP Home. It's a Hp/compaq w/1.25 gig. Strangely, when I take this computer to another location on the other side of town, I have no problem connectig to the same Linksys unsecured network. (Or perhaps, another Linksys unsecured network.) This adapter is brand new, and works beautifully at the other location on the same computer. What's the problem and how do I solve it? Thanks, Mike Cutler |

Re: WIFI Adapter Not Connecting
Are you SURE the network you're connecting to is unsecured? Check the router's settings.
Some things you can try here.
Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.
