internet issue
ok i changed out my graphic card to a Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 since i put it in i been having net issues. First it will no longer work with my router the router cant even pick it up anymore but it still works fine with my xbox and ps3(because of this i removed my router and now em connected to the modem directly). Now a new issue has come out of no where it will just drop me saying the default gateway is not available. I do a diagnostic and its fix but will happen again at random. I'm not sure how a Graphic card upgrade could make this happen although i have guessed my power supply isn't giving out enough power to run the computer properly anymore.
the graphic card requires a 500w and my power supply is a 550w, I'm largely asking because i don't want to buy a larger power supply and not see the issue go away. -----by the way the light that's around the Ethernet cable on the tower is a orange or a dim red now i believe it used to be green but i cant remember heh. Re: internet issue
I doubt it's the P/S unless it's really simply defective. You DID connect the power connector to the video card, right?
I have an HD 4870 with a 500W P/S, works fine here. One easy way to see if it's power is to swap the old card back in for a test.
