!! On-Board LAN of P4C800-Deluxe Motherboard !!
Hi there,
i posted this question overe there at tge ASUS forum but did not any feedback until now. I have a question regarding the on board LAN of P4C800-Deluxe, because sometimes i suffer from not hocking up to the cable modem after a restart of my machine. I had a look at the status LED's just besides the LAN socket. One is constant on and one is flashing. When i power down my pc, right at the point when the PWS switches off those two LED's also go off for about 0,5s. After that time period they will switch on again and show a established connection to the cable modem. I did not caught it in action, but could that little "OFF" time period be the culprit, that my connection to the cable modem after a new power-up of the pc sometimes can not be established? Also when i power up my pc, there is this small interruption! Is this normal, that the LED's of a LAN-card or a onboard LAN are switching on and off right at the point where the PWS is switching off or let us say going over to the stand-by mode and go on back again and on the power up? Thanks for your answers! Christian

The lights don't go on until the NIC hardware is initialized, perfectly normal. I really doubt it's the NIC that's the source of your issues, but anything's possible.

Hi johnwill,
thanks for your answer! My LAN connection (at least the status LED's, one is constant on one is flashing) are always on! Also i have a ENET LED on my modem that shows established connection even when my pc is shut down. The LED's are will go into the off state for about 0.5s when i turn on the pc and when i shut it down. Thats is the reason why i think it loses maybe the MAC Adress. Any idea? Christian
