2wire gateway 2701HG B/netflix streaming
I have DSL via ATT. Just bought a new blue ray LGBD300 DVD player that will stream netflix to the player. We bought a CAT6 cable and wired it from the router to the DVD player, but it will not connect. After many calls to ATT and LG, I have been told that the router is not a modem and I need to have ATT come out again and install another modem in the room of the dvd player. Now that I have spent $50 for the cable and scrambled under the house to connect, and have scheduled Geek Squad to come out, is there something else that can be done?

I can't imagine you need the Geek Squad, I'd cancel that until we see if you can do this for free.
![]() What is the exact make/model of the modem and/or router if a single unit. You most certainly don't need two modems, and you obviously already have high speed Internet with the DSL connection. If you have a connection at all, you have a modem in your configuration. My guess is you have a one port router, and you need a simple switch to share the connection. Keep the cable, we'll be using it soon.
