new modem router wont connect....

hi... i recently got a new belkin n1 mimo modem/rouer to replace my old netgear one, but when i hook it up, follow all the onscren instructions with the setup CD it tells me at the end "your ISP did not accept the settings below when we tried to connect, please examine them again to make sure everything is correct".. im sure the info i entered is correct, the username and password the setup asked for.

my ISP is AOL and the old netgear one came with it when i signed up...

all the lights on the belkin turn blue meaning connected except the last internet LED blinks orange unable to connect... any help advice and such would be great.. thanks

It's telling you the Logon name or the password is incorrect. Check for spelling, upper/lower case etc! It must be exactly what they told you!

one other thing you may want to check - make sure the modem is compatible with the service. Not all modems are.

Re: new modem router wont connect....

Call AOL, it may not be compatible. AOL is somewhat of a PITA about connecting to their network. My real advice would be to get a real ISP.
