Computer onlyconnects to network not internet
OKay
so we have a home network of 3 compters, to desk top & a laptop The laptop & a destop (my comp.) are connected through the internet wirelessly. I at times have a poor connection being upstairs &&& often get my connection would be dropped but i'd restartmy comp or log out &&& back in &&& it'd be back again(btw we run d-link rounter, & my comp is win XP ) After a good 3 yrs of having this network secure & working, one day my comp decided to cut out i have an idea that it has something to do with DNS & key ports b/c on msn troubleshooter my computer can still connect through the network to other comps &&& can even still use limewire :S the tv/internet guy was puzzled as to what to do I've tried alt of things & have a pretty good knowledge with comps. But i'm kinda stuck here. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling drivers & such with no such luck hopefully you guys can help...Thanx Chanty |

Re: Computer onlyconnects to network not internet
First off, disable ICS. Disabling Internet Connection Sharing
Next, do the previous ping tests again and post the results.

Re: Computer onlyconnects to network not internet
Check your Services are Started on all PCs:
Note: You can check the services in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. All of these services should be started, and their startup type should be automatic (or perhaps manual).
