Hi
hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction to solving this problem. I have a HP TouchSmart PC that started to disconnect from modem/router without warning and today disconnected completely and wouldnt reconnect after trying absolutely everything.... before this happened my PC which runs vista went to a blue screen explaining that something happened and the computer was shut down to prevent any further damage.... then i restarted the internet wouldnt work..... and it wouldnt connect to the modem/router. I noticed when i restarted that this device was reinstalled automatically: HP 802.11abg wireless LAN Is this what is causing the problem? It seems to be working fine now, but i just want to prevent it from happening again. Thanks in advance! |

Re: Wireless Modem keeps disconnecting or not connecting at all
Blue screens are usually signs of hardware issues, though sometimes a software crash can cause them as well.
The fact that it reinstalled the wireless NIC drivers suggests that the wireless capability may have had a hiccup.

Re: Wireless Modem keeps disconnecting or not connecting at all
Like I said, sounds like impending hardware problems.
