Re: wire less network only works for an administrator

Gosh - now it's my turn to be thick.

I read the thread johnwill references (http://www.velocityreviews.com/forum...nistrator.html) where Ekkehard ultimately managed to figure out the right modification needed in his registry, but it's got me stumped and Ekkehard never posted what he did.

My system is different from his, but I have the same problem - my wireless networking works fine on the admin account, but all other users can't get connections.

I found that in my registry, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318}\0014 references my specific SSID so I guess it's the right place in the registry to look.

But what modification do I need to make to which key in order to add full access for "Users"? I have a sneaky suspicion it's probably trivial and obvious...but I can't see it just now.

Thanks in advance for putting me out of my misery ;-)

Re: wire less network only works for an administrator

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I've created a new thread for your issue here.

Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: wire less network only works for an administrator

FWIW, I had a similar issue with a couple of machines with limited accounts. Upgrading to SP3 solved the issue, now both of them work fine wirelessly with limited accounts.
