Need Help With Wireless Router
Hi All,
I'm using a D-Link DI-514 router. It's hardware revision B1 and I have the latest firmware, v 1.03. I'm having issues RE-connecting my laptop after a successful session. The weird thing is, if I turn off the laptop and reboot the router and then start the laptop up, it will connect flawlessly... BUT, if I simply restart the laptop, it will not connect. It appears to be timing out. I went as far as trying to assign a static IP address based on the MAC address of each device on my network. I have a PC thats hard-wired in to the router, a Nintendo wii that is wireless, and now this laptop, a Gateway P-7811FX. Even after assigning static IPs I still have the same problem where I have to reboot the router if I shut the laptop down. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Re: Need Help With Wireless Router
Try resetting the router to factory defaults and reconfiguring it. See if it exhibits the same issue with a wired connection. See if the laptop has problems with other wireless networks.
FWIW, I think that particular D-Link router is junk, I've had issues with every one of that model I've seen.
