Re: I cant connect wirelessly .

Have you disabled all encryption and MAC filtering to see if you can connect that way?

Re: I cant connect wirelessly .

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: I cant connect wirelessly .

I don't see any evidence of a wireless network at all in that IPCONFIG

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Please respond to all the following steps.
  1. Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
  2. Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
  3. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

Re: I cant connect wirelessly .

Okay. here is how it is, i can use my wireless internet to get on some pages and it works fine at a good speed but when i try to get on some other websites like maplins or dabs.com it wouldnt allow me and on the wireless adapter status it would say im connected to the internet and as soon as i click maplins.com it says im not connected any more. is this something to do with my DNS settings not allowing me to access some pages? Also here is my ipconfig /all

Re: I cant connect wirelessly .

That image doesn't load for me. Please post it directly to the forum.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

Re: I cant connect wirelessly .

I can't even imagine why the specific site you connect to would affect the wireless connectivity! That makes little sense to me!

Re: I cant connect wirelessly .

Some things you can try here.
  1. For wireless connections, change the channel on the router, I like channels 1, 6, and 11 in the US.
  2. For wireless connections, try moving either the wireless router/AP or the wireless computer. Even a couple of feet will sometimes make a big difference.
  3. Update the firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's site.
  4. Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.
