WRT54G Router Issue
I have a Linksys WRT54G broadband router and would like to now a solution for my problem:
When I play games on the internet ( Warcraft III, FIFA, Age of Empires) I'm having a short delay at a random time. This delay stands up for 2-3 seconds. Then all goes fine except for the next short delay. I've changed my ISP and modem but the delay still appears. My router firmware is 7.0.0.1. Any solutions for this problem? Thanks in advance. P.S. I have double post this thread because now I'vre realised where to post it |

Re: WRT54G Router Issue
Are you connecting wired or wireless to the router?

Re: WRT54G Router Issue
it sounds like there is something in the air that could be causing the delay. It could be materials in the wall to distance to other electronic/digital appliances in the home. what happens when you place the computer right next to the router and use the wifi? One thing you can try is to change channels on the router.

Re: WRT54G Router Issue
Some things you can try here.
Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.

Re: WRT54G Router Issue
1. The channel was changed by me from the beginning. I am not from the US so I have the channel changed to 4 or 5
2. I have moved the router next to my Wireless Card and next to my computer (as close I could - the distance between my computer and router is 10 feet now ). 3. I have updated the latest firmware from Linksys' site And still it's happening. I will try the last thing and see if it works. |

Re: WRT54G Router Issue
Does the delay occur when wired directly to the router (not directly to the modem)?

Re: WRT54G Router Issue
I am not using a modem. And yes when I'm wired directly to the router the delay doesn't occur
And also, I have spoken with Linksys about my problem ( using their Live Chat program ) and neither they have a solution. |

Re: WRT54G Router Issue
Well, if you've done all the steps outlined previously, I'd try updating the wireless drivers on the problem machine.
