We currently split our DSL line so that part of the line is used for broadband and part is used for sending and receiving faxes for our company's main fax number. This works fine. Now, we wish to send faxes initiated electronically from our server over the same portion of the DSL line that is used for our company's main fax line. We have finally configured one of our servers corrrectly to send the faxes (with fax modem hardware and fax services installed on server), but every time we fax, the fax is delivered to our company's main fax number, not the fax number in the outside world to which we're trying to send. We are using separate DSL filters for both our regualar fax machine and fax modem pluugged into the server. Are there any software or hardware settings we could change to enable us to use our main fax machine and a fax modem connected to the server on the same DSL line without this crosstalk? Is there a limitation on how many fax devices can be used on the voice portion of a DSL line?
The server is running Win Server 2003. We are using asynchronous DSL at 768 down/256 up. The external fax modem connected to our server is a US Robotics 56K V92. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Fax Crosstalk on DSL line
Does it work if you disconnect the FAX machine?

Re: Fax Crosstalk on DSL line
When we unplug our main line's fax machine and send a fax via our server and the fax modem, the fax does not go through to the destination fax #. The fax stays queued up in the Fax Console Outbox. When the fax is plugged back in, the fax goes through to our main line's fax machine. I have tried many different settings in the Fax Console, is there something there I am missing that ensures the fax goes to the destination fax # and not our local fax #?
