Mistake [SOLVED] uninstalled

Hi there,

I am having troubles updating windows updates. Each solution I followed the instructions. I was in the add/remove and accidently uninstalled my PCI modem. I don't have the origianl hard ware disk. Is there away to get it back and fix the update issue?

Re: uninstalled

What kind of modem is it? Since you say PCI i assume its a card... Generally most manufacturers have the links on their sites to the drivesr. If you can provide what kind it is we can probably help you find them.

Re: uninstalled

Probably will have to open the pc up and get the type and model from the card itsself. But if you are not using that it seems like you might have a permissions issue... Seems like more i'm at work right now i will research more later at home

Grin Re: uninstalled

thanks for trying. Under help and support for HP, I found a restore option. I was able to install the modem again. The updates took most of the day. basically I had to uninstall all my third party protection, turn off firewall, restart and then the updates started to work.

thank you
