keep losing internet connection on home network
i have a desktop with windows vista home premium that is hooked up to a broadband(comcast) modem and a Linksys wireless router(WRTG54G) which my laptop which is a toshiba satellite connects through. I have had this hooked up for the last 3 yrs without any problems. A few days ago while on my desktop i lost the internet connection....the laptop lost connection as well. however we still were connected to the local network. I clicked on diagnose and repair...then my internet connection would come back and the diagnose thing would say nothing was wrong, then a little while later the same thing would happen. I then did a ping from the laptop, to the desktop and the router...at that time it said 0% loss to the desktop and 50% loss to the router. Then i went to the routers page and reset the settings. I had no problems from yesterday morning until a few minutes ago, when again i lost internet connection.
Is it possible that theres something wrong with my router or could it be the modem? and how would i figure that out. we have cable and phone all through comcast through the same modem and arent having any problems at all with the cable or phone. Just the internet which is why im thinking its a router problem. any help is appreciated. thanks! |

Re: keep losing internet connection on home network
Some things you can try here.
Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.
