[SOLVED] Wireless Printer Setup - WEP question
Hi All
I'm trying to set up my Samsung Printer (ML 1630) to print wirelessly. Trouble is, it won't accept my WEP key telling me it should be 5 or 13 characters whereas, in reality, it's 10 characters (and works fine with the wireless hard drive and internet radio that doesn't support WPA yet so I can't change it). I've logged into the router (Netgear DG834PN) and have tried changing the WEP key by entering it manually with 5 or 13 hex characters but all it did was disable the router connection. It's driving me demented so if anyone can help, please do. Cheers Joe |

Re: Wireless Printer Setup - WEP question
The printer is apparently looking for the passphrase option for the key, not the hex keys. See if there's a way to convince it to accept hex keys, which are much more reliable, and that's what you appear to be using anyway.

Re: Wireless Printer Setup - WEP question
All done. Thank you for your help.
In the end I checked the latest release of radio software could take WPA so I upgraded all security and hey presto, the printer accepted the new code too. Thanks again Joe |
