New HSI but stuck on IP address

Hi, I've got a new cable modem set up and ready to roll but, I seem to be locked on an old IP address of 192.168.100.1
I can't find the answer I need @ microsoft support either. (what else is new, eh?)

That IP address is a private network address, typically used by broadband routers and the like. If you supply more details of your exact configuration and ALL of the networking equipment, we could be more help. How was the machine connected previously?

Problem fixed. Thanks for your time. I was missled by Comcast tech support.
The issue was in the line (old cable filter) & at Comcast.
