Is this a natural Satellite problem or not?

Okay, I've been having major computer issues lately. That's the main reason me posting this has been late..>: But, okay. I don't know if this problem is normal considering the weather we've been having, or not.

We have Hughes Net, and recently it's been doing the creepiest things. And, I mean..since the start of summer. First of all, in June, there would be these weird little moments were the DNS and Keyports would mess up completely and I couldn't go online at all. This would last from a minute to maybe an hour. The longest time it did it was for about three to four hours..x_x I always found it odd, because resetting our router wouldn't do a thing most of the time. And, sometime in early July..it just randomly stopped. It happened a few times after that, but they were really small..a few minutes at the most for each one.

Now, what happens is everything seems to go wild..x_x I go to the Control Center and to the System Status, and almost everything has a red flag. The first thing to mess up is usually the TCP acceleration. It'll usually go straight into being not operational and skip the impaired message, and it'll stay messed up the longest. After the TCP acceleration, I've noticed it all just goes downhill. The signal strength will be stuck at exactly 15, and the receive, transmit, and web acceleration soon follow in suit and have some error. This usually lasts for a random amount of time, but what gets me is I know this will happen on it's own when the weather really acts up..but mostly this happens when the weather's perfect..>:

I know this computer has viruses. As hard as I try, I can't ever find them...I don't know if this is the work of one of those viruses or not. >: But one of my friends who has Comcast has been having some of the same problems that happened with my DNS and Keyports...Is this the work of a virus?

Re: Is this a natural Satellite problem or not?

This doesn't sound like a virus, but anything's possible. I've never used satellite Internet, so I don't really know what kind of reliability to expect.

If you really think you have virus issues, I suggest the following.

Please follow the instructions here (5 pages) and then post all the requested logs in a new thread here for the security analysts to look at. If you have any trouble running any of the scans, leave them and move onto the next.

The security forum is always busy, so please be patient and you will receive a reply as soon as possible. If you go to Thread Tools > Subscribe at the top of your new thread you will receive an email as soon as a reply is posted.
