New Computer Troubles with Internet
I just ordered parts off NCIX.com to build a new computer and got them to put it together and test "everything" for a small fee. Everything seemed great at first when I was installing antivirus and a few games but once I connected to the internet I immediately had problems. (Windows XP 64bit is my OS)
Download rates are much slower, ~80-120KB. I compared this with my old computer trying to download off the same time and I got between 250 and 400kbs. I was also using a chat program "Ventrilo" to talk to friends and my ping appeared fine, ~100. As soon as I started talking it would spike into the thousands. During this time I could hear my friends talk in real time without any lag but my outgoing was delayed several minutes. Not sure what else I can say that would be of any use.... Thanks for your time, I appreciate it! |
