Cannot connect desktop PC to web via D-Link router

Hi,

I'm based in Hong Kong. I bought a D-Link Xtreme N DIR-655 router, but while the wireless connections (an Apple Mac and a Soundbridge) work fine my PC, which is attached to the router via a LAN cable, can't get onto the internet now. Frustratingly, both my computer and the router itself even recognise that the local area connection exists!

It's not the connection, as when I plug the LAN cable directly into the modem I can get onto the internet. FYI, PCCW is my ISP, and they offer a PPPoE service. And I have tried inputting the username and password into the router setup wizard, but that didn't work. Neither did unplugging the router and modem, setting all the cables up, then plugging them in again.

Help! Any ideas on how to get my PC to work as well as my wireless computer?

I am, truly, a clueless guy.

Re: Cannot connect desktop PC to web via D-Link router

Let's see the configuration page for the WAN in the router.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.
