WEP key not working on Vista comp
The WEP key worked on my XP computer to connect to my wireless router and yet when I tried it on the Vista computer and it wouldn't go through. The connection to the router on the Vista computer is only "fair" but it's like 3 out of 5 bars. What could be the problem here?

Re: WEP key not working on Vista comp
If you're using the passphrase option, use only the HEX keys for WEP.
Vista has been known to have issues with WEP for some reason, why not update everything to WPA. WEP has serious security issues and is easily cracked.

Re: WEP key not working on Vista comp
- click on view available wireless networks
- click CHANGE ADVANCE SETTINGS - click WIRELESS SETTINGS TAB - on preferred network: remove all the network names available - go back to view available wireless networks and connect back to your network. |
