Ok, my problem is that, I have a Belkin Wireless G Router - 2.4 Ghz-802.11g And i want to get it set up so i can play my computer and my Playstation 3 at the same time.
But my problem is that, My disc tray is GONE, its not there, when i got it fixed last time it broke... So i was just wundering if there was any way i can get it to work without the install disc! ~Thanks |

Re: Can somone please help me?
if you have your wireless adapter installed on your comp and whatever PS3 needs then your good to go.
the install disk for routers is just a manual anyways. totally unnecessary. If you got encryption on your router set( I hope you do!) just input it into your PS3 and your comp. should be no problems |

Re: Can somone please help me?
Well, i can get them both to work, but the down/upspeed on the PS3 is INTENSELY slow.
And the PS3 keep signing me on/off of PSN And i have nothing installed on my comp for the router, and i have NO idea *** encryption means O_O |

Re: Can somone please help me?
If you can hook up your PS3 wired but if not in your psn setting your going to have to set up your wireless encryption.there's
WEP - (bad security) WPA - (better) WPA2 (best of what most residential homes can get) this video should help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH-c0BxB_RE |

Re: Can somone please help me?
Ok, well i go through the whole proccess but i didnt really think of putting a password on there, so when it scans for wireless connections, like 10 others pop up but there coded.
So i guess when i come back ill give that a try, ill what that video now tho. Were is that password for the WEP Encryption. Last edited by SDiablo123; 08-28-2008 at 11:24 AM. |

Re: Can somone please help me?
If you didn't set a password for wep there is no paasword you need to go into your router (usually - 192.168.1.1) and go to security, set the type of security WEP, WPA or WPA2 and type in a password A good password for WPA or WPA2 is 26 characters and the best type of password is 64 characters long
I guess this your router??\ http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_Id=136493 Last edited by Mcninjaguy; 08-29-2008 at 01:20 AM. |

Re: Can somone please help me?
Ok, were do i go to get to my router?and yes that is my router.
And whats the difference between WEP and WPA/2 I think i know why it keeps signing me out of PSn, because the UPnP is not Available, i watched that vid, and at the end it has Available for UPnP Last edited by SDiablo123; 08-29-2008 at 04:53 PM. |

Re: Can somone please help me?
WPA will work with a wider range of hardware, WPA2 requires different and upgraded hardware and only works with newer wireless adapters. WPA offers plenty of protection with a strong random key, so I'd use that, it's more likely to work.

Re: Can somone please help me?
You should use ONLY the hex option for WEP, since the passphrase is interpreted in a different manner by some wireless hardware and drivers.
You have to enter EXACTLY 10 hex characters for 64 bit WEP, or 26 hex characters for 128 bit WEP.

Re: Can somone please help me?
Nope, it just has to consist of the right number of hex characters.
FYI, hex characters are from 0-9 and A-F.

Re: Can somone please help me?
Are you SURE you're using the same HEX password on the router and the client computer? If so, did you disable any MAC filtering on the router? Finally, let's see this.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command: Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command. IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Can somone please help me?
your router has DHCP disabled on your Hamachi Device (router right?) you should probably re enable it. its probably the main reason why your PS3 can't connect.
type 192.168.1.1 in your address bar (for getting into the router interface). If your confused about your router interface you can take a screen shot of it and post it here. Please tell me if I'm wrong Johnwill, I want to be correct not a blathering fool. |

Re: Can somone please help me?
I'd uninstall Hamachi and see if some of the issues are resolved.

Re: Can somone please help me?
Hamachi is a "no configuration" VPN for connecting between computers. If you don't know what it is, you sure don't need it!
