Slowing adsl connection
HI,
I have a 1.5 adsl connection and in the last few weeks it has slowed. I have scanned my computer for spyware and viruses and it seems clean. I haven't installed or changed any settings lately. My laptop connects at 1.5 Mb no problem, I have tested this through a speed test website. But my desktop, only gets around 400k. If you re boot it will run at the full 1.5 but slows dramatically after a couple of minutes. Also if you "repair" network connection It comes good for a couple of minutes. I have a wireless card in the desktop and a netgear modem/router I gathered that since my laptop connects ok that the router must be ok? Could It be a hardware problem? I cant think what else to try? thankyou Larry |

Re: Slowing adsl connection
i agree... but if you have a problem with virus you can change and remove your existing anti virus change it with kaspersky and you can download this for free or you can buy it. but the meantime you can use this as follows:
point he my computer icon right click it go to properties press hardware then device manager press the ports icon double click communications port go to port setting bits per seconds (put it in max) flow control put in in hardware then press ok hay hate this long message notes and then tell me if it helps ok >>> |
