Exclamation Verizon DSL really really slow

For some reson my Verizon DSL [Westell VersaLink 327w]
is going slower than the speeds I should be getting.

I have had my dsl for about 3-4 years now and didnt relize that should be getting 3mbs , but I only get 350 kbs.
Now I was disapointed when they told me i was getting 3mbs download speed for 3 years .T_T

I already contacted verizon , but they told me i was getting the full speed and that tere might be problems with my pc .

So i Did a SPEED check and of course it said 3mbs , but i download a 500mb file from a private serever with 10mbs MAX download speed, but the file still went at 350kbs.

then i noticed there were problems with my filters so i replaced all of them , but nothing changed .

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITHTHIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[ps: sorry for my spelling error ]

Re: Verizon DSL really really slow

You're getting the proper speed. You're confusing bits and bytes.

3000 / 8 = 375

For a 3mbit connection, a 100% efficient download would be at 375kbytes/sec. Since there is some protocol overhead, 350 is very good.

Re: Verizon DSL really really slow

If you're talking about bytes, the guy is wrong by a factor of 8. When I download using my 15mbit fiber connection, I get around 1.8mbytes/sec, and that's all there is to be had. For a 3mbit connection, 350mbyte/sec is quite good.
