Slow connection

I am using a HSP56 AMR internal 56kbps modem at the moment and I have tried others with the same result.

I can only connect at 31200 maximum It usually connects at 28000 though.

Are there ways of getting a better connection with a 56k modem as cable is not available in my town yet and I can't afford DSL?

If you're only gettting 30k, it's probably the quality of your phone line and you're stuck.

It depends on where you live.

We're using directway know. It's very fast but it's down side would be bad weather. I think this will be the only way to go in the future. Prices are slowly coming down so you might want to look at that.
