BBC iPlayer crashes
I have a BT Home Hub as a router which is working fine on everything except the BBC iPlayer. I can use some of the available programs but not consistently. Sometimes it works well if you can get it started and don't try to do anything clever like select a different program!Sometimes when connecting to a programme (radio or TV) it will only stream enough data for a few minutes as the router seems to get locked(no data button flashing as normal) and when the data runs out for playing, the router reboots and we have to start all over again .
BBC cannot suggest a solution and BT will not offer support for iPlayer. In fact when it does work, if I try to access any other information from say a BBC website, the same thing happens and we get a locked data stream and a reboot after a few minutes. There was a security update from Microsoft recently(XP) and a ZoneAlarm update to counter the resulting problem. I have both updates in place. Can anybody suggest why this is happening. My system had no problem with the BBC Listen Again system until they started to transfer programs to the new system. many thanks, James |
