Lag, lag & more lag!
Hi all!
I got a serious lag problem in games atm. Ive just got the new version of the G15 gaming keyboard. I had some lag with my previous k/board so im sure its a connection problem. Im running through a netgear router and i also at time like now, ive plugged it straight into the modem, but i get the same lag. Im playing bf2, and im running, until i see someone to shoot, i stop normally but i keep on running even though im not pressing anything to run! Its also like the gun im using suddenly just starts shooting even though im not pressing the mouse button to shoot! This is very annoying and i cant seem to find the problem. My ping is fine at 18. Could anyone shed some light on this please?? |

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.
The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like: If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL http://www.dslreports.com/linequality/nil/2357195 <- sample only, yours will obviously be different! and your IP will be disguised. Copy/paste that link here. Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
Thanks for posting back! I checked out the dslreports but i have to sign up and have to have points. I cant do this is there any other website?
And secondly you say about the ICMP on my router, i havent got the access as its passwrod protected. I have to say though, i did try playing without the router and it does the same thing. It doesnt do it with anyother game apart from BF2. Maybe i should get in contact with ea, could be there side. Thanks again Antec |

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
Actually, you need no points, I run that test all the time, and I've never paid a dime. Just sign up for a free account.
If a single game is the issue, I'd be looking on the other end as well. ![]()

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
After joining up and currently waitin for a test to be done, i tried it again. It came up with pinging problems, it says; sorry (my IP) is not pingable from www.dslreports.com Please disable firewall ping protection. See this FAQ section for more information. So i see the FAQ section, then im totally lost. I disable my firewall, which i didnt feel comfortable with, and it did the same thing. It does have an option to just continue with it anyway so ive done that, dont no if it will come out different!

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
If you have a router, you have to allow PING requests to be responded to there, not the software firewall.

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
That's really going to depend on the exact make/model of the router, which you didn't specify.

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
Well i seem to have solved the problem just by using my old one! LOL. So its the new k/board thats making me lag for some reason! I wouldnt of thought that a keyboard would do such a thing! Should i setup another thread for this??

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
Well i either return the keyboard, and forget the issue, or i can keep it which i intend to do but try and find the solution. You know, i really dont like this old keyboard, it cost me something like $10!! Thanks again John

Re: Lag, lag & more lag!
I think I'd return the new keyboard and shop for an alternative.
