Detect Ethernet card

there are two computers in my home, one that belongs to me, the other to a family member. The computer that doesn't belong to me has just been reformated, and needs its PCI Ethernet Controller's driver to be reinstalled. I don't know what the name of the card is, so how can i find out so that i can download the driver on my computer and install it so that the other will have internet access? Please help.
thanks

You will need to look at the network card. Somewhere on the card there should be some info that will tell you the manufacturer and model number of the card.

If the ethernet controller is built on the motherboard you should be able to get the drivers from the system manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer.

The model number should also be on the card.

thank you for replying, and going through all that work, but the card only says D-Link, is there another way to get the model number, such as a program that identifies hardware?

I looked around the dlink site and did not see an ID prog for cards. You may want to call them. 1-877-453-5465

They should be able to help you id the card.

FYI: Electronic devices in the US have an FCC number. You can go to the FCC website for investigating what a device is and use the number.
