OS: xp pro sp2

can't connect to all websites

I just got a new computer up and running 2 weeks ago : dualcore 3.0 g, 4g ram, sata hd's, xp pro w/sp2. We have 3 other computers, all networked, in the office. All the other computers have no problems connecting to websites...quickly. (linksys modem and router) For some reason, about 3 days ago mine started having connection problems. Connects fine to home page and a a couple of other work related sites. When I connect and do a google search, i can't connect to any of the links it pulls up....keeps timing out, 'can't connect to server, or can't find server ***" I have the same problem trying to connect to ie: photobucket and consumer reports. Tried doing a sys restore to a week or so ago.......didn't help. Updated firefox, no help, tried IE...same problem. I reeeeally don't want to spend Friday wiping the hd and starting over....... any help would be appreciated. It HAS to be something simple that i'm overlooking. Also have avg, ccleaner, spybot and trendmicro and registry smart installed. I've been using all these programs in the past with no problems.
