USB adapter not picking up signal
Okay. My parents own a vacation home in semi-remote Idaho, where they live about 3 months out of the year. Their neighbor has a wireless connection they said my parents could use for this short time each year. We got and installed the USB Adapter (N wireless, Belkin), and while it says the signal strength is excellent, we cannot connect to the internet, only to the neighbor's computer. The folks I got the info from, about how we could use the signal, etc. to connect to the internet must have left out something important. The laptop we use has an internal modem, and using dial up is not a problem, just incredibly slow. Any ideas to connect to the internet using the neighbor's signal, and not just to the neighbor??
Wireless-less and clueless. Thanks for any help! |
