Very strange connection drop - phone ringing

Firstly I'm running a wireless network with a Linksys WAG54GS (ADSL connection).

So heres the problem; whenever my phone rings my internet connection drops. Before you hastely reply with "Do you have filters on all of your phones?". Yes, I do and the problem came about only a couple of weeks ago when I changed nothing at all about my set-up. The router is plugged in on the top floor of my house and one phone is plugged in downstairs. BOTH with filters.

NOTE: The phone has to be picked up to drop the internet (i'm pretty sure it does anyway), which is why i'm querying this first be for a spend sometime messing about and using my mobile credit to ring my home phone.

Thanks!

Thats a fair point, however this problem just arose randomly the phone has been the same before and after it started cutting out.

No, I don't. I'm asumming you mean that I have the router plugged into the ADSL socket of one filter with that filter plugged into another.

Thanks for the replies guys! But I seem to have fixed it (I just unplugged the phone and router completely to test different filters, and when I put it all back where it was before, it worked =S) for now. I shall post agian if the problem comes back! Cheers!

Re: Very strange connection drop - phone ringing

I do not know if a filter is the same as a splitter but i used to have this problem. Whenever i picked a phone up to dial, the internet disconnects. It is bcuz of the splitter, a faulty one. Replaced it and everything is back to normal..

A splitter is used to split one line to support both a phone and internet so that both can work at the same time.
