Re: verizon dsl wont go wireless

and welcome to the Forum

Do you have any security ( WPA, WEP . .. ) enabled on the router?

What brand/model is the Modem and ROuter?

Are you using Wireless Zero Configuration or the IBM wireless management app?

Re: verizon dsl wont go wireless

I's start by disableing the security until both pc's are connecting. See this for more on the Zero Configuration . . it usually works better than the proprietary apps.

Have you applied all Windows Updates?

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold for the following commands.

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Re: verizon dsl wont go wireless

Let's try this:

Click on Start . . Run . . type CMD

At the > prompt type type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Come back here and Paste the results in a message.

Why?

Where did the second wireless connection come from?

Were you connected to the wireless when this was taken? . . the Wireless has no ip address.

In the IP properties for the wireless connection , , do you have it set to automatically acquire an ip address?
