Wireless SSID
Hi, I just bought a new wireless router for my house because the aliant one that they gave to me wasn't doing the job. I bought a Dlink 802.11n and my laptop also has an N card. My first problem is that I can't figure out how to change the network name of my new router from Dlink to whatever I want it to be. I also can't figure out how to put a key or password on it to make it more secure. When I log on the internet it automatically logs me on my old aliant network because the Dlink network is "not secure". For some reason, my old aliant network has better signal then my new router in some places as well, which doesnt make sense because the new router is an N and I have an N card in my computer and the aliant modem is only a G. If possible I would also like to set it up so that I can throw my aliant modem out, but there is no internet connections into the back of my new router, just a internet cord that goes to aliant modem and 4 lan connections. If anyone can help me name the dlink netowrk, add a password to make the network secure, and maybe get rid of the aliant modem/network it would be appreciated thanks.

Re: Wireless SSID
Pick your exact router model from the list, and follow the guide: http://www.portforward.com/english/r...outerindex.htm
