adsl modem's help

yo everyone,
so i got this shiro's adsl+2 usb modem today for an adsl connection right?
so i connected everything in order. the lights that should glow behind the modem, the ethernet and power lights glow right? but the dsl light is not glowing. and i checked the web manager thing and it says dsl:down. whats causing this? i have tried it using splitter and not using a splitter as well but doesnt seem to work what i do. please help

You probably have wiring issues, the fact that the DSL light is not on indicates you have no connection to the ISP.

You MUST use a splitter on EVERY phone instrument on the line EXCEPT the DSL modem.
