Guys if anyone can help me please i need to know why i people cant join my server for halo on the PC when i make and host a match no body is able to join. I have a Linksys modem and the options when i make the server connection are... T1/LAN --768Kbps--, DSL/Cable (Low) --128Kbps-
DSL/Cable (AVG) --384Kbps-- DSL/Cable (HIGH) --512Kbps--,and then theres 56Kbps which is the connection speed and the name. I have Comcast too so the broadband high speed internet should work. Re: I need DESPERATE help!!!!!
Disclaimer:
I am in no way an expert on this issue so take my advice lightly. I've dealt with this problem in the past back when I used to play Tribes 2 and the solution is pretty simple. Step 1: Enter your linksys router by typing http://192.168.1.1 into your browser's address bar. Step 2: I'm a little fuzzy on this one but there should be a section within your routers menu to the affect of "ip forwarding" Step 3: forward ports 2302-2303 and 80 Step 4: Enter in the last digits of your computer's ip address where it asks for you to do so and check the box to enable port forwarding. You can obtain your computer's ip by typing "ipconfig" into a DOS window (found under accessories in the start menu) Example ip: 192.168.1.8 If that doesn't work then you could enable DMZ host(NOT RECOMMENDED!!). Enabling DMZ host basically bypasses your routers firewall, leaving you open to all malicious attacks. Edit: It could also be your windows firewall that's causing the problems. edit2: Here's a list of default linksys user names/passwords: Default user names: * Linksys BEFW11S4, WRT54G: admin * Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Ethernet routers: Administrator * Linksys Comcast routers: comcast * All other Linksys routers: [none] Default passwords: * Linksys BEFW11S4: [none] * Linksys Comcast routers: 1234 * All other Linksys routers: admin username/pw source: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/r...ys_passwds.htm Edit 3: Your router's ip may be different than 192.168.1.1. after typing in "ipconfig" on a DOS window your routers ip will be listed after "Default Gateway" Last edited by Iplop; 05-20-2008 at 11:41 PM. |
