No Connectivity

I have a toshiba satellite A215 and it wont connect to the internet. I got it about a month or so ago and it was fine, always connected but for some reason last night the connection was dropped and I can not get it to connect again. I have a 2wire wireless modem and a linksys wireless router. I know this is a weird setup but this is what I had for awhile and it worked fine. When I connect to a wireless connection on my laptop, it says it connects but the bar between the modem and internet icon is gray with the red X (windows vista) I tried resolving the problem but I cannot find out what it is. Im not sure if its a firewall settting or what but any help would be appreciated.

Re: No Connectivity

DKELL426,

Has your PC always had Vista or did you recently upgrade to Vista? What is the make/model of your broadband (dsl) modem and router? When did this problem start? What, if anything did you install or change on your PC prior to having this problem. Do you have any other wired or wireless PCs successfully connecting to your DSL/router?

Do you use the Vista Firewall or do you have some other Internet Security product (Firewall and/or Antivirus)? If so, what product/version are you using?

Sorry for all the questions - but knowing this stuff will help us diagnose and hopefully resolve your problem.

- John
