Weird Network Problem

Hi i am facing a weird problem that does not seem to get resolved.

i have ethernet connection that i connect to using pppoe adapter
i can connect to the net fine and surf too but when extra load is added like torrents, the connection goes kaput and i cannot even ping 192.168.100.1 which is the modem ip.
only way to resolve this is to powercycle modem.

Modem i am using is Motorola Surfboard SB4200
os:win xp sp2
network adapter: intel original onboard

Re: Weird Network Problem

Please review the Tech Support Forum Rules & Conduct, and you'll see we provide no support for P2P applications here at TSF.

Re: Weird Network Problem

ahh you guys mistake me the torrents i mention are not illegal ones but legal ones like those used by Blizzard to distribute patches for the popular game World Of Warcraft.

also the problem still applies to cases when load is high like a streaming video or a MMORPG game like world of warcraft.

please look into this and do not dismiss it just because a P2P term is mentioned in query

Re: Weird Network Problem

I don't mistake the clarity of our rules whether the torrents are "legal" or "illegal". Same answer.
Quote:
P2P

We believe that the main purpose of P2P programs is to illegally download and use copyrighted material of whatever description. We further understand that there may be legal uses for P2P, but as we are not able to assess a user's intent when he/ she asks for help, we do not support P2P software and we will not assist any user in this regard. This includes but is not limited to Bearshare, Kazaa and many others.
Crystal clear to me, this thread is closed.

I've seen you asking the same question in other on-line forums, please do NOT ask about this again here.
