Problem with my D-link DSL-G604T
Morning chaps
Went to move my router to a different area of the house lastnight for better reception and now having a problem with it. My guess is it's quite a common problem but you be the judge. It was working fine before I moved it, but when I plugged it in elsewhere, it starts working fine, WAN light comes on, status light starts flashing, I'm able to connect to the network on more than one PC etc etc. Then the ADSL light flashes like it normally does when it's syncing, stays on for about 10-15 seconds (during which I have perfect internet access), then it goes back to flashing and I lose ADSL. Then it will go solid again in about 30 seconds, this cycle repeats endlessly. I took it back to the old power outlet and the same problem occured, so it wasn't the power. I did a firmware update but I was already on the latest. To write this I am using secondary router I have, connected with the same filter, same cord, same power, and it works fine, so one would think it is the router itself, no? I also tried resetting to factory settings, but no change. So to sum up, ADSL syncs, but only for a few seconds. So what'd'ya think? Some good advice would go down a treat. I'll answer any further questions as quickly as possible. Cheers P Last edited by spotila : 04-14-2008 at 04:49 PM. |

Re: Problem with my D-link DSL-G604T
Sounds like you have a problem with the phone line, not the router. I'd suspect that either you have the filter installation screwed up, or the phone connection you're currently using has poor wiring.
