[SOLVED] Phillps SNK5600 Wireless Router Configuration problem with Virgin Cable Mode
Hi, I have just purchased a Phillips SNK5600 Wireless router and am having difficulty with it seeing the modem. I have Windows XP, an ethernet cable connected between my PC and LAN1 on the router and another ethernet cable connected between the WAN port on the router and a Foxcomm broadband cable modem. I can connect to the internet when the modem is directly connected to the NIC card on my PC and access the internet, my TCP/IP is set to receive it's IP address automatically in this scenario.
When I am trying to access the modem through the router, do I need to setup a default gateway on my PC. Do I need to specify an IP in the range the the router the router has. (192.168.1.100 - 200) The issue is I can't access the internet and the @ LED on the router (indicating internet connection) does not light up. Thanks in advance |

Re: Phillps SNK5600 Wireless Router Configuration problem with Virgin Cable Modem
Configure your PC for automatic IP addressing (DHCP enabled).
Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
When the computer is completely booted, let's see this. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Phillps SNK5600 Wireless Router Configuration problem with Virgin Cable Modem
Update: I have noticed that I now have an internet connction icon in my icon tray that shows i am connected. I also have the LAN2 showing connected. I can also ping the DNS servers my ISP gave me and my router is updating with NTP time. I still can't connect to the internet and the @ internet LED is still not on on my router?

Re: Phillps SNK5600 Wireless Router Configuration problem with Virgin Cable Modem
Managed to get it working. Took DNS addresses out of LAN2 and set to automatic. Think the reset procedure you advised me to go through combined with that did the trick. Patience is a virtue I do not have!!!!
All the best |
