internet connection
Hi ,
Kindly help me for the following issue pls ! I have broadband connection with a Router provided by my ISP This connection has a static ip address and we configured that router to our private LAN ip address and we this ip address as our gateway. The output of the internet connection from that router is connected to the switch. and internet is shared. Now i have purchase a new Linksys VPN router. Which has 4 ehternet port and one internet port Now i want to make this router as my gateway and connect the Broadband router to Linksys internet port instead of switch. What all the configuration should i need to do to access the linksys router as the gateway and enable internet connectivity. What i have done yet is : Assigned our LAN ip address to the linksys router and got the static ip from our isp. Then i assigned the static ip address in the wan configuration of that Linksys router. And changed my machine gateway ip to that linksys LAN ip address. But im not able to connect or browse internet.. |

Re: internet connection
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.
What country are you located in. Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Make and exact model of the broadband modem. Make and exact model of the routers in use (all of them). Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device. I'd be simply replacing the ISP supplied router with the new one, any reason that's not what you're considering?
