[SOLVED] Dialup dialog appears when browser can't find site

This is really weird. Today I was fooling around with changing my home network, and for some reason all of a sudden anytime my browsers, both Firefox and IE7 (but not Opera), get a URL or site that doesn't exist, it opens the dial-up dialog box, even though I have DSL connected. And it won't display the URL not found window until I close the box.
I have no freaking idea what is causing this, but I am almost certain it is not a virus or trojan, as I can make it do it and it only does it when I try to access a non existent page.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks
Dave

In Firefox, Tools, Advanced Network, Connection Settings. Make sure that only Direct connection to the Internet is checked.

In IE, Tools, Internet Options, Connections, check Never dial a connection.

Thanks.
It was the latter. Funny thing is, I haven't touched IE in weeks, so I have no idea how it got changed.
And it never occurred to me to look at IE, because all I ever use is FireFox, except for rare updates.
Anyway, all fixed now.
Thanks
