[SOLVED] Not able to connect to Internet
Hi,
We have a broadband internet connection and was working fine till yesterday when we connected a D-Link wireless router. Now, it is giving "678: The remote computer did not respond" error. When we spoke to our Service Provider's technical rep, he has updated the MAC ID of router but still it is giving this error. I have checked all the connections.. they are fine. The indication lights are glowing as expected. I have restarted the computer, modem and router after they were connected. What might be problem? Can anybody help me out in solving this. Please let me know if I need to provide more information. PS: Note that it is working fine if I directly connect the modem with PC. I am finding the problem only when I make use of router. Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
When the computer is completely booted, let's see this. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
