Grin Modem rebooting

Recently every time I turn around I have to reboot internet modem, this only started a couple of days ago and I was wondering if this could be caused by a virus and if reformatting my system would help. I have reformatted my system before to clean it up and know what a headache it can be but rebooting the modem every time I turn around is annoying. I'm using AVG virus protection and I noticed that it picked up and deleted a trojan horse a few days ago, about the same time as I started to have to reboot my modem. Could this be the cause?

Re: Modem rebooting

I doubt it's a virus, if you only have to restart the modem. It's more likely a problem with the hardware.

Re: Modem rebooting

Is it safe to assume that this is a modem your ISP supplied you with? If so how long have you had that modem?
