Communication Breakdown
I have an Averatec laptop with a Smartlink 56k on board modem and a dial-up problem. I have setup my dial-up connection option for iexplorer. I dial the connection and I hear a dial tone, I hear the modem dial the number, but nothing happens. The modem seems as though it's not transmitting the sound to the line. I know this because I picked up the phone and dialed my isp's number while the modem was supposedly dialing and it began the connection sequence sounds, but my modem still does not communicate. I've tried it on different phone lines so I know it's not a problem with the jack or the telephone cord
.The modem's driver version is 3.40.6.672 |

Re: Communication Breakdown
Sounds like the modem is broken.
