EEK! Pc Wont Start After Dsl Driver Download!

I have been helping a friend (so I thought, lol) get her DSL up and going. After alot of hoopla the DSL isnt even offered in her area, BUT, I downloaded the drivers for the modem (Westell) and went to restart the pc....and nothing happened. The pc starts to boot, but abruptly goes quiet and nothing pops up on the monitor. The power light on PC and monitor are both on, but the monitor goes into sleep mode and the pc does nothing. Is this a common problem with HP's and does anyone know how to fix it? PLEEEASE HEEELP!

Thanks

Re: Pc Wont Start After Dsl Driver Download!

Try getting to the boot options by pressing F8 multiple times during the initial boot process. If you get there, try booting to the last known good configuration. Another thing to try is to boot in safe mode to do some repairs.

If you can't get that far, you're pretty much out of luck, time to restore to the factory configuration.

Also try and boot into safe mode and see if you can somehow manage to get into safe mode.

If he manages to boot to the last known good configuration, there's no need for safe mode.
