Problem with Linksys router (I think?)
Good morning everyone!
I think this is a problem with my router, but I'm not exactly sure. Last night I was playing Puzzle Pirates (I know, I know.. ) and in the middle of the game, the screen froze. I just figured it was a problem with firefox or something. Anyway, restarted my computer, and then it wouldn't load the puzzle pirates website. Got a "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." error. So I tried in IE, and got an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. So I asked a few of my friends to try and load the page and it works fine for them.So at that point, I'm thinking it's my firewall (have Kaspersky Internet Security and the Windows firewall on Vista), but couldn't see where anything had been blocked. So I try to log on to the site from the only other computer on my network, and that one can't access the page either. So it has to be my router, right? I tried unplugging it, plugging it back in to reset it and have the same problem. I have a Linksys WRTP54G (the VOIP one, but no phone hooked up), can get into my router settings, don't know what I have to do once I'm in there to make this work. Any ideas? Thanks much! |

Re: Problem with Linksys router (I think?)
Connect directly to the modem.
Turn off the modem and computer. Turn on the modem, wait for a steady data (connect) light. Turn on the machine and boot to the desktop. Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
