wireless not working

Hey everyone well i recently got a new computer and have been trying to get the my wireless card to work but i can't figure out the problem. It says its connected in all but it always says it has limited or no connectivity. My modem that im using is a westell 327w if that helps and im using a linksys wireless flash drive. I've tried this on 2 different computers and nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appricated thanks

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

What country are you located in.
Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Make and model of your computer.
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP1-SP2, Vista, etc.
The Internet Browser in use, IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.

Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.




On any affected computer, I'd also like to see this:

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following commands:

PING 216.109.112.135

PING yahoo.com

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

ok I live in USA, Bellsouth is my ISP my modem is a westell versalink model 327w as of now my connection is wired but im trying to get wireless working on this computer and the encryption I use whenever I try to get the wireless running is WEP. My computer is a Emachines w3506 I use windows xp-home my main browser is IE.

The Problem with my wireless is that every time I set it up and all it says its connected and signal Strength is excellent but it never works and sometimes it says it has limited or no connectivity.

That test shows you have a good connection to the Internet, you were able to PING yahoo.com by IP address and by name.

What are the exact symptoms?

the only problem is that when i try to hook the wireless up on this computer or my other one they both say its fully connected but it never works or it will say it has limited or no connectivity

Well, obviously I need to see the IPCONFIG for the non-working connection.

Did you try disabling encryption on the router to see if you can connect that way? Also, for WEP you need to use HEX keys, not the passphrase option.
