Help buying first wireless modem
Hello, i have AT&T yahoo dsl. I currently have a speedstream modem. I just got a new laptop and want to put it online and keep my desktop online too. I was looking at linksys routers(WRT54G), are they any good? AT&T has 2Wire brand, are they better?
Just looking for a good router at a good price ($75 or less). All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Help buying first wireless modem
I'd buy the Linksys over the 2WIRE ones.
How about $30 after rebate for a nice 802.11n (draft) router and a PCMCIA card for your laptop too: http://dealnews.com/D-Link-802-11-n-...te/204625.html I bought this combo for $35 after rebate, and it's working well so far for us.

Re: Help buying first wireless modem
I'm running NETGEAR, it is firewalled has four lan lines for $22.00. We have a busy location and it will support four laptops while I am on my desk top. Very small design that is not in the way on my desk.

Re: Help buying first wireless modem
The PCMCIA card is for a laptop to support 802.11n (draft) connections. If you don't need it, the $30 is still a great deal on just the router, save the card for a friend.
